UK-based PSD Codax is helping oil giant Galp control customer access to car wash equipment across Spain following a deal with cleaning chemicals company and service provider Interchem.

Interchem, which has been appointed Codax distributor in Spain, is replacing outdated card reading technology on equipment at Galp forecourts with the Codax code access system.

The Codax system works by issuing a unique code which customers key into a special touchpad to start the car wash services that they have purchased. This system will help Galp eliminate lost revenue from unauthorised usage and provide management reports that can be easily checked against takings.

Mario Pesquera, managing director of Interchem Solutions, said: “We really enjoy working with PSD Codax and are excited about our order from Galp. Other clients are also pleased that we are supporting the Codax range in Spain and we have installed Codax with new wash installations and retrofited to existing installations.”

Graham Round, managing director of PSD Codax, said: “We are delighted to be working with Interchem to help Galp protect car wash revenues and provide customers with a hassle-free way of paying for and accessing car care equipment.

“The Codax system eliminates the problems associated with unreliable magnetic strip cards – which can be easily damaged and frustrating for customers to use – and stops staff giving away free washes.”
